Lake Copperfield is an ideal place to have a swim, enjoy a picnic, kayak or sit back and relax. A cool haven, the reserve has a deep lake surrounded by hills.
Lake Copperfield is a water reservoir for the local community so camping, washing and motor boating activities are not permitted. It is located 6 kilometres south west of Pine Creek
Pine Creek is situated 220km south of Darwin and 90 km north of Katherine at the junction of the Stuart and Kakadu highways.
The town was established in the late 1800s after gold was discovered there by chance by the crew working to lay the Overland Telegraph Line.
